Esmeralda is a qualified person as an expert in my topic because she has taken various makeup classes with professionals from Ruby Makeup Academy that provides hands on learning to their students, making Esmeralda knowledgeable of the makeup world and qualified to be my mentor. She has also taken courses on hair styling which is helpful to the hairstyle part of my topic.

4. What is the most important thing you gained from this experience? Why?
The most important thing I learned from this experience was that its okay to step out of your box and explore different options. For many reasons, like deciding that I wanted to pursue something different from most of my peers and to also have a fun senior topic that will motivate me. Senior year is as I expect to be very challenging and I know that my decision to go down the path of makeup can be tricky for some because of there being a lack of something important whether thats research or finding a great mentor, I am prepared for the journey and see where it takes me.
5. What is your senior project topic going to be? How did mentorship help you make your decision? Please explain.
This summer I was really determined to do my senior project on something military based, but halfway through the summer I developed an interest in Makeup and Hair and decided to look into it as a possible senior project. When I started my mentorship with Esmeralda, I really enjoyed being in the world of makeup and learning simple techniques that can make an impact on a persons features. By stepping into this new world, I became passionate about it and was hungry to learn more about makeup artistry. During mentorship I felt that this would be different from other topics and would give me a chance to explore my creativity through makeup and hair.
